Here is the self-introduction I gave at tonight’s candidate forum hosted at the Lansing Community Center by the local League of Women Voters. Thanks to the LWV and to the City of Lansing for making it happen. Watch for future deep dives into issues that voters have asked me to address, such as Medicaid expansion, fully funded education, legalized medical marijuana, supporting economic growth in our district, supporting law enforcement, and more.
As promised, today I am sharing one successful alternative program that accomplishes the goal of significantly reducing the number of abortions without trampling women’s rights. I present it as an example of how creative thinking, thinking outside the box and shunning lazy group-think may provide workable solutions that get approval from a larger percentage of Kansans.
I have been urged to give my opinion on the Value Them Both Amendment. In my video, I again explain my concerns about the passage of it without any information from current legislators about the specific plan they have for laws they will enact if the amendment passes. I choose to be an informed voter before casting my vote.
